The teams within the Office of Campus Planning, Design and Construction (CPDC) are also busy planning and preparing for work to be done beginning this summer, including the extensive renovations at the Schine Student Center, which will start right after Commencement.

In May, renovations to the Schine Student Center will start, and the first phase of student room renovations at DellPlain Hall and the final phase of student room renovations at Day Hall will begin. Welcome back to the start of a new semester. I hope you had a restful break and are off to a great start. The teams within the Office of Campus Planning, Design and Construction (CPDC) were busy with projects over the break, and new projects are beginning as we plan out this new year.
With the semester coming to a close, I want to wish everyone a restful break and a happy new year. This will be the final campus construction update for 2018. Our efforts within the Office of Campus Planning, Design and Construction (CPDC) will continue over the break, including on the National Veterans Resource Center, the Arch, Bird Library Suite 550, Center for Undergraduate Research in Bird Library, an accessible bathroom in the Physics Building and all-gender restrooms in the Shaffer Art Building and Crouse College, among several other projects. We will also see longer term projects starting to take greater shape in the new year.
The weather hasn’t slowed down our teams working on major building projects, upgrades to classroom and student spaces, and signage projects. You may notice significant progress with the National Veterans Resource Center as the steel is put in place, and also check out our new campus signage that is being introduced to better direct new students and visitors. It is also exciting to note that renovations to the Schine Student Center will begin next spring. Continue Reading

The Division of Campus Facilities and Administrative Services (CFAS) was busy over the summer updating and renovating campus facilities to ensure the best living and learning environments for our entire campus community. We continue to make great strides in ongoing projects and are in the planning stages of more upgrades yet to come.
As the new academic year begins, we welcome new and returning students to our beautiful campus and wish everyone a great start to the fall semester. Work continues this summer on the Barnes Center at The Arch, with much of the structural framework of Archbold Gymnasium exposed to the outside world as construction workers carefully remove portions of the building. The work is offering a unique view of the building’s history, along with a preview of what’s to come. Watch this video to see highlights of the work being done.
