Opportunities to Provide Input

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff:

Last week, many of you participated in the first Campus Framework forum of the fall semester. If you missed last week’s event, rest assured, there are still plenty of opportunities for you to provide your input on the draft Campus Framework.

This week, we will host our next forum on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 1:30 p.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium in Newhouse 3. American Sign Language (ASL) and Communication Access Real Time (CART) interpretation will be available. If you have requests for accessibility and accommodations, please contact the Equal Opportunity, Inclusion and Resolution Services (EOIRS) office at 443.4018.

During this forum, I’ll share a recap of summer construction projects, discuss the goals of the Campus Framework and outline our near-term priorities. Following my presentation, I will answer your questions and address any concerns you may have. I welcome your general feedback and recommendations as well.

Also happening this week, is the Office of Campus Planning, Design and Construction’s (CPDC) second construction update of the semester. If you’re interested in learning about the progress of ongoing construction projects happening on campus, please join the CPDC staff today from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in Room 113 in the Heroy Geology Building.

As the Campus Framework is a living, breathing document, I encourage you to provide feedback and suggestions at your convenience. We plan to collect input from the campus community throughout the fall semester in order to help inform the creation of a revised draft that will be shared with all of you in January 2017.

If you have yet to review the draft Campus Framework that was shared in June, please visit campusframework.syr.edu. There you’ll find the draft Campus Framework, as well as a public comment section. You’ll see many of your fellow students and colleagues have already contributed their thoughts and suggestions.

If you have any construction-related questions, comments or suggestions, please email cpdc@syr.edu. For parking concerns, call Parking and Transit Services at 443.4652. And, if you have questions pertaining to accessibility, contact Aaron Hodukavich, director and ADA coordinator in the Office of Equal Opportunity, Inclusion and Resolution Services, at 443.2377 or ajhoduka@syr.edu.

Sincerely,

Pete Sala
Vice President & Chief Facilities Officer
